- Thyroid Gland Problems. We usually recommend testing for thyroid gland problems if a
patient is following our recommendations and not achieving results.
Though exercise has beneficial effects, it is my personal belief that many people are so
overweight that in practicality exercise does little in most cases of weight loss.

Our body has a very efficient storage mechanism for the excess food that we eat over and above
our "Metabolism" requirements. Our body stores this excess food energy in the form of BODY
FAT.
One pound of body fat represents 3500 calories of energy that must be burned or metabolized to
lose one pound of body weight.
